TITLE: Vice President of Commercial Construction and ESOP Stockholder
TENURE: 32 Years
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for monitoring and leading commercial construction activities including all aspects from estimating to final closeout procedures, I also assist in the crucial day-to-day activities here at Benson’s, working with the other shareholders to keep the company on track for success.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: I went to vocational school to become a welder and sheet metal fabricator after high school while executing a paper route every morning. I later switched to night schooling while working for a local sheet metal company during the day to get my hours so that I could graduate on time.
I worked full time with that company doing metal fabrication and installation, later quitting to go with one of the owner’s sons to start his company doing large mechanical installs where I gained a lot of knowledge doing large chiller and boiler installations. I started with Bensons doing residential installs when there were only 5-6 people working for Benson’s and gained knowledge in that field to add to my overall expertise. I began handling the commercial projects as they became available, later working into estimating the projects and project management.
