Quincy HVAC FAQs

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system in Quincy, FL?

A few reasons you may want to replace your HVAC system rather than repair it include:

  • Your HVAC system is over 10 years old and breaks down often
  • Your HVAC system requires repairs frequently
  • Your HVAC system doesn't heat and cool your home effectively

Another sign you should replace your HVAC system is if your energy bills have increased dramatically. However, if your HVAC system is fairly new and the cost to repair it is less than half the cost to replace it, then it may be more cost-effective to have it repaired.

How can I improve indoor air quality in my Quincy, FL home?

To improve your indoor air quality in your home, you can do the following:

  • Clean your house often
  • Replace your HVAC unit’s air filter
  • Use your ventilation systems
  • Purchase an air purifier

If you notice a large amount of dust in your home’s air, you can also get your air ducts inspected and cleaned to ensure that they are not contributing to your indoor air quality problem.

How much does it cost to replace a central air conditioning unit near Quincy, FL?

It costs around $3,000-$7,000 to replace a central air conditioning unit in Quincy, FL. However, the cost can fluctuate depending on:

  • The size of your house
  • The type of central air conditioning unit you want installed
  • The cost to remove the current AC unit and install the new unit

Getting your central air conditioning system replaced can be costly, but will save you money on repairs and energy costs each year.

Diagnostic/ Condenser short cycling, system not heating. Arrived and found the condenser locked out on error codes #4 and #7. These error codes are for EEV restrictions and a failed suction line temperature sensor. I have ordered these parts and they will be likely be in later this week. Only emergency heat is available for now. 2/12 - Returned and replaced the suction line temp sensor, the EEV stepper motor, and the EEV control board. Tested operations in heat mode and cool mode. 01/20/2026- I arrived on site to find all high voltage off due to a loose breaker on the main panel that feeds power to the disconnect of the east side unit. After I reconnected the wire to the breaker and re-secured it to the back plate the unit started working properly again. I verified that there weren’t any issues with the unit itself or the heat strips. Due to the main breaker being the problem I informed the homeowner and showed him the location of it in case he ever needs to reset it himself. I have emailed him an estimate for replacement but he said he would likely have his electrician come out and replace it. I told him the breaker size and told him to contact us if he needs our company for anything else. This unit is currently working properly at the time of service. Breaker information: 2 Pole Square D 60amp 120/240v breaker for the east side AHU (located in the top right of the outdoor main panel)

01/05/2025- I arrived on site to preform the wintertime maintenance visit for this location. The only issue I found was that unit #1 had a nearly clogged drain line that I have cleared with drain solve, before pulling out the blockage with a vacuum and verifying that it’s draining properly with a gallon of water and drain treatment solution. Both drain lines are now clear and draining properly at this time. All electrical components were found in spec and working properly. Both units are heating properly with a 30 degree and above temperature split. All air antimicrobial air filters have been replaced at the time of this visit. The customer has signed and approved of an estimate for some 25x25 antimicrobial air filter refills at this time. We will contact the customer when the filters are ready to be delivered and we will collect for them at that time. All equipment is functioning properly and heating properly at the time of service.
