Quincy HVAC FAQs
A few reasons you may want to replace your HVAC system rather than repair it include:
- Your HVAC system is over 10 years old and breaks down often
- Your HVAC system requires repairs frequently
- Your HVAC system doesn't heat and cool your home effectively
Another sign you should replace your HVAC system is if your energy bills have increased dramatically. However, if your HVAC system is fairly new and the cost to repair it is less than half the cost to replace it, then it may be more cost-effective to have it repaired.
To improve your indoor air quality in your home, you can do the following:
- Clean your house often
- Replace your HVAC unit’s air filter
- Use your ventilation systems
- Purchase an air purifier
If you notice a large amount of dust in your home’s air, you can also get your air ducts inspected and cleaned to ensure that they are not contributing to your indoor air quality problem.
It costs around $3,000-$7,000 to replace a central air conditioning unit in Quincy, FL. However, the cost can fluctuate depending on:
- The size of your house
- The type of central air conditioning unit you want installed
- The cost to remove the current AC unit and install the new unit
Getting your central air conditioning system replaced can be costly, but will save you money on repairs and energy costs each year.

02/24/2026- the evaporator coil is in stock at Johnstone supply and is being delivered to our warehouse. Please contact the customer and schedule a timeframe for replacement when the parts arrive at our warehouse. 2/26/2026- Today we replaced the evaporator coil, pressure tested the system to 350psi for 30 minutes, pulled a deep vacuum under 500 microns and added refrigerant charge back to the unit to get it cooling properly. 02/23/2026- I arrived on site to find the unit low on refrigerant and I verified that the refrigerant leak is in the evaporator coil. I informed the customer about the refrigerant leak and how the maintenance technician still did his job properly and how it is much more difficult to notice a refrigerant leak in heat mode. I verified that the unit is covered under Parts and Labor Warranty and the customer has approved of the replacement of the faulty evaporator coil and the new refrigerant needed when the replacement is preformed. I will order the replacement coil and contact the customer tomorrow morning to inform her about availability. I also found the UV light to be burnt out so I replaced it with truck stock per the customers request. This unit is currently operational but very inefficient with the potential for freezing up and pressure issues due to the low refrigerant. Due to this I informed the customer to only use emergency heat until the repairs have been preformed.

01/20/2026- I arrived on site to find all high voltage off due to a loose breaker on the main panel that feeds power to the disconnect of the east side unit. After I reconnected the wire to the breaker and re-secured it to the back plate the unit started working properly again. I verified that there weren’t any issues with the unit itself or the heat strips. Due to the main breaker being the problem I informed the homeowner and showed him the location of it in case he ever needs to reset it himself. I have emailed him an estimate for replacement but he said he would likely have his electrician come out and replace it. I told him the breaker size and told him to contact us if he needs our company for anything else. This unit is currently working properly at the time of service. Breaker information: 2 Pole Square D 60amp 120/240v breaker for the east side AHU (located in the top right of the outdoor main panel)
