Upon arrival found unit primary safety switch to be engaged and several gallons of water in drain opening and under patio as customer showed me . The existing drain line is 3/4 pex line while the inside is 3/4 pvc. To solve this issue I installed an adapter to connect the pex and pvc together. Afterwards I cleared and tested the drainline which is draining properly as well as removed as much water as possible. Thank you for your business.

For simple AC repair calls the cost averages around $300. More extensive air conditioner repairs can cost anywhere from $500 up to $2000. If you’re facing a large repair quote, you may want to consider getting a replacement unit instead.
The quickest way to tell if it would be more cost-effective to replace your AC is to multiply the repair estimate by the age of your system. If the total is less than $5000, choose to repair your AC; if the total is higher than $5000, go ahead and install a new air conditioner.
The lifespan of a house air conditioner varies greatly depending on a variety of factors. However, well-maintained units should last between 10 and 15 years. Many systems may be extended even further by performing frequent inspections and repairs, both large and minor. It's a good idea to start looking at new equipment when your system is around 15 years old so you'll be ready when it's time to replace it. [link to https://www.bensonshvac.com/air-conditioning-replacement/] You'll want to learn about the most up-to-date, energy-efficient choices available, as well as obtain a price estimate.
The quick answer is “never.” This is because most modern air conditioners are delivered with the precise amount of refrigerant that it will require for the rest of its life.
In fact, unless there is a refrigerant leak, a central air conditioner should never require more refrigerant. You'll need a professional to identify and fix a refrigerant leak if you suspect one. Refrigerant is a poisonous chemical that can cause a variety of problems, including breathing difficulties and even death. So, unless you're a trained refrigerant handler, leave a refrigerant leak to the pros.
