Quincy HVAC FAQs

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system in Quincy, FL?

A few reasons you may want to replace your HVAC system rather than repair it include:

  • Your HVAC system is over 10 years old and breaks down often
  • Your HVAC system requires repairs frequently
  • Your HVAC system doesn't heat and cool your home effectively

Another sign you should replace your HVAC system is if your energy bills have increased dramatically. However, if your HVAC system is fairly new and the cost to repair it is less than half the cost to replace it, then it may be more cost-effective to have it repaired.

How can I improve indoor air quality in my Quincy, FL home?

To improve your indoor air quality in your home, you can do the following:

  • Clean your house often
  • Replace your HVAC unit’s air filter
  • Use your ventilation systems
  • Purchase an air purifier

If you notice a large amount of dust in your home’s air, you can also get your air ducts inspected and cleaned to ensure that they are not contributing to your indoor air quality problem.

How much does it cost to replace a central air conditioning unit near Quincy, FL?

It costs around $3,000-$7,000 to replace a central air conditioning unit in Quincy, FL. However, the cost can fluctuate depending on:

  • The size of your house
  • The type of central air conditioning unit you want installed
  • The cost to remove the current AC unit and install the new unit

Getting your central air conditioning system replaced can be costly, but will save you money on repairs and energy costs each year.

08/26/2025- I arrived on site to check out the customers ductwork and I found that the bottom part of his metal trunk line ductwork insulation is completely wet and dripping in a couple of spots. Due to how wet the insulation the wrap will likely need to be replaced with new insulation, the customer would also like his supply side plenum to be insulated since it’s bare metal that forms condensation above his unit. I have priced out the job and emailed the customer the estimate. If the customer approves of the estimate, please call and schedule the job with him.

08/05/2025- the control board is in stock at carrier, the one bag of 8 inch and 6 inch flex ductwork will be delivered to the shop tomorrow morning. 08/07/2025- I arrived on site and replaced the 8 inch and 6 inch ductwork lines that were pinched and restricting airflow with new flex ductwork. I was also able to get to the third duct that was giving the homeowner no airflow in her office and discovered that this duct wasn’t pinched, but loose and disconnected from the main duct line. I have resecured this loose duct back to the main duct line. All ductwork is now run without being pinched as well as connected properly. However I was unable to remove the old 6 inch duct line that I disconnected from the crawl space due to how pinched it was and how tight the crawl space is. I have informed the homeowner to not be alarmed if he sees this duct since it is not connected to the main duct line or a supply vent, it is only there because I was unable to remove it from the crawl space.
